Chrissy asked:

I would like to move my medical billing service to my home but really don’t know where to start. Do you need prior approval or show HIPAA compliance before this can happen or what? I hear that more and more people are doing this and I’d like to know how. Would save me money on rent. Please HELP!!! THANX!!!

lol – I like the other answer, i just didn’t realize you were asking for a loan.

All kidding aside, hipaa.org should have most everything you need to know.

    Also: hhs.gov/ocr/hipaa
    hipaadvisory.com

If those don’t do it, then you might want to do a search on google for hipaa compliance or hipaa law.

This is perfectly lawful to move your business to your home, you just need to make sure you have new business associates agreements signed that make the provider aware that you are working out of your home and what safeguards you have in place.
